She specializes in complex medical claims investigations, fraud detection, and the analysis of treatment and billing records. She has served on the Iowa-Nebraska Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigation Units (IA-NE IASIU) board for the past four years and currently serves as a Board Member. She is also involved with the IASIU and NICB Workers’ Compensation Education Councils, supporting education and collaboration within the workers’ compensation industry. Matt Mortvedt is the Bureau Chief of the Iowa Insurance Fraud Bureau at the Iowa Department of Insurance & Financial Services. He leads a specialized team dedicated to investigating insurance fraud, securities fraud, and financial exploitation of seniors. Matt joined the Division as a Special Investigator in 2019 and was promoted to Bureau Chief in 2022. Prior to joining the Division, he spent 13 years with the Ankeny Police Department as a Patrol Officer, Narcotics Detective, and General Crimes Detective. Matt currently serves as Associate Director on the IA-NE IASIU Board and is committed to protecting Iowa consumers through fraud investigations and consumer education.
