Matt Mortvedt is the Bureau Chief of the Iowa Insurance Fraud Bureau at the Iowa Department of Insurance & Financial Services. He leads a specialized team dedicated to investigating insurance fraud, securities fraud, and financial exploitation of seniors. Matt joined the Division as a Special Investigator in 2019 and was promoted to Bureau Chief in 2022. Prior to joining the Division, he spent 13 years with the Ankeny Police Department as a Patrol Officer, Narcotics Detective, and General Crimes Detective. Matt currently serves as Associate Director on the IA-NE IASIU Board and is committed to protecting Iowa consumers through fraud investigations and consumer education.
